Background
   In 2011, over 9 million people in Southeath Asia were
    affected by what were called the worst floods in
    more than 50 years.

   Under funding from the U.S. Trade and Development
    Agency (USTDA), the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC)
    deployed VinAWARE at the beginning of the 2011
    storm season.

   Customized DSS (with DisasterAWARE) for
    Vietnam
     All-hazard Warning, Analysis and Risk Evaluation
 Intended for use at national and provincial
  levels.
 Pilot project focused on coastal provinces of
  central Vietnam.

   Prototype decision support system (DSS) for
    flood and tropical cyclone hazard
    assessment and warning that supports
    disaster management activities.

   Integrated Multi-Hazard Monitoring,
    capture and storage of real-time incident
    data, forecast bulletins and meteorological
    observations
     Provides real-time updates on developing hazard
     situations.

   Interactive Geospatial Data Environment
    incorporates new and existing data from
    GOV and international sources
     Offers tools to visualize and interact with GIS

        rainfall accumulations, storm track, model output)
