INTRODUCTION TO ENGLISH LITERATURE
1. Using your own words write the plot of the story.
Answer :
In the moonlight, three officers have a duty to be inserted placards, placard notices obout it is a
prisoner to escape, if someone finds him, the British government gave him a hundred pounds.
when an officer (sergeant) finds him, the man did not arrest him because he was sympathic to
him.
2. Describe and characterize a single character that interests you most from the story.
Answer :
MAN, he is a person who has the courage to fight with the british government, he wants
to give his country the freedom of Ireland, but it would be a prisoner and had to flee from
police.
MAN: I, and without reward as well. not a fool? But when I saw a man in trouble, I never
could help trying to get him out of it.
3. Consider whether the character you have chosen makes changes in attitude during the
course of the play.
Answer :
Yes, he has made changing attitudes, the sergeant who had to catch him, let him go because he
fell in sympathy for her.
4. Discuss any character relationship. Consider how the characters affect each other.
Spenculate the relationship on its probable future.
Answer :
I think the sergeant and the person it has a relationship, maybe originate from the same country
or two people who have been known to the existence one another. it affects the sergeant uses
songs and stories are very meaningful. maybe in future they will work together to do something
that they thing you should do.
5. Analyze the plot of a play. Consider both time and play. Also consider small scale aspects
of setting, such as whether the action occurs indors or outdoors.
Answer :
Time: in the light of the moon (night), the british empire, when Britain has the control to other
countries all over the country.
I think it's going to play indoor.this acction using the name and attributes (songs) from outside
the British, I think
6. As dialogue can reveal characters, choose a conversation between two or more
characters, so that you can judge some traits from those characters.
Answer :
Yes.
Sergeant: It was my friend arrived.
Human: You will not betray me .... granuaile friend.
Police B: if there are people who pass this way?
Sergeant: none at all.
7. After you read “THE RISING OF THE MOON”, mention the props may be needed for this
play, the kind of the scenic background and the kind of costumes the main characters
wear.
Answer :
Props: a plaque, a bundle of ballads, matches, pipes, cork, and paddle boats.
Scenic background: the background of the night, the moonlight, barrels, lanterns.
Costume: police (sergeant and officer), ugly fabric for men, hats, wigs.
8. Try to sum up your sense of the play central ideal, what poin does it seem to make ?
Answer :
Demonstrations of the people as representing his country for the british government,
because he fell in the government was unfair to her character country.all affect each other
because they are in the same issue or similar situation.the police need to find prisoner to
earn money and promotion, will always meet police custody because he made something
wrong.
