2. WHAT IS ADAPTIVE READING?
• Adaptive learning is an educational
method which uses computers as
interactive teaching devices, and to
orchestrate the allocation of human and
mediated resources according to the
unique needs of each learner. Computers
adapt the presentation of educational
material according to students' learning
needs, as indicated by their responses to
questions, tasks and experiences. The
technology encompasses aspects derived
from various fields of study including
computer science, education, psychology,
and brain science.
3. OBJECTIVES
Through the S.P.A.R.K (Sustainable Programs for Adaptive
Reading for K to 12, K-12 learners will be able to:
• Able to manipulate installed reading software in the school’s
desktop pc’s or personal laptops/pc’s/tablets/mobile devices.
• Improve reading skills by constant use of the reading
software.
• Sustain continuous habit of reading even without use of
reading software.
4. MONITORING
• Reading Coordinators and Class Advisers will be given
evaluation sheets for learners who are using the
reading software. In these sheets, they will be able to
monitor the development of the learner’s reading
levels. Numerical scores are also shown in the reading
software, so teachers may use them as basis, as well,
for monitoring reading growth.
