Let me give you an example of how we can save money, improve the client experience, and give greater individualised care. This example is from the hearing aid and telehealth company that I have built, and am growing.
The inspiration that I got from my Dad’s deafness brought me to some solutions. I’ve travelled through client care, cochlear implant research and a start up that supplied technologies to hearing aid and headset companies all over the world. There’s a solution that puts the hearing aid user in control of what they like to hear, providing expert help on the consumers terms, giving much greater convenience and reducing the cost of the hearing aids and services by about 70%. We are a hearing aid company in one of the most old fashioned areas of healthcare, and we are leading the way in accessible, client centred healthcare. We do this by making our hearing aids so smart that they do their job really well; we make the customisation so simple that, if you can adjust your TV, you can set these up yourself, and by providing centralised support from our Melbourne HQ, wher I have a team of 25 audiologists, scientists and engineers and clients all over the world.
This is how it works: you take a simple listening test on line to find out what speech sounds they hear well, and what sounds they have trouble hearing. This is done at comfortable listening levels, somewhere reasonably quiet.
Theses results are used to set up the hearing aids. When the user gets their hearing aids, they use their computer, or tablet or Smart phone, with this gadget here (hold up), to individualise it further.
