Lapland’s latitudinal positioning close to the north pole makes it the perfect place for skygazing: low light pollution, high chance of seeing the northern lights. In summertime, there is also the phenomena called ‘midnight sun’ – due to proximity to the polar regions the sun doesn’t completely set.If aurora hunting – avoid travelling in summer as the sun will cause light pollution!
Due to the high amount of snowfall for the majority of the year, landmarks made of snow are not uncommon – with ice sculpts in the hallways!
