coordination
Eliminating Utility Bill Late Penalties
• On track to eliminate $133,000 in annual late
fees by processing and paying utility bills quickly

12. • CitiStat is a leadership strategy to mobilize city
agencies to produce specific results.
• It is based on a series of regular, periodic
meetings with the City Manager and leadership
team and each city department’s leadership.
• The meetings use data to analyze past
performance, set new performance objectives,
and examine overall performance strategies.
What is CitiStat?
13. • Modeled after a similar program in New York City, the Baltimore
City Police Department initiated weekly ComStat meetings to
improve crime-fighting efficiency.
• CitiStat represents the extended application of the same basic
principles to the management of all municipal functions.
• First Meeting in Baltimore held on June 29, 2000
• Since then cities, counties, states across the country as well as
federal agencies have launched stat programs
