This document discusses how playing the victim role is easy but unproductive. It provides a self-check to determine if one is blaming external factors rather than their own behaviors for lack of success. While external challenges may exist, pointing fingers will not lead to success. Historical figures accepted their circumstances and took action through vision, belief, and resilience rather than victimization. The mindset one adopts, seeing opportunities rather than limitations, determines whether they will get help or not.

2. It's easy to feel like a victim.

3. In fact, it's so easy that everybody
does it.

4. Only when we do it ourselves, we
don't feel like we're playing the victim
card.

5. It's one of those things that's really
easy to spot in others, but very hard to
see in ourselves.

6. Kind of like being in a dysfunctional
relationship vs. having a friend in a
dysfunctional relationship.

7. From the outside in, it's pretty obvious
to see that it's not going to end well.

8. But from the inside out, it feels like we
just need to fix that one "thing" and
everything will be swell.

9. Here's a quick self-check to see if
you're playing the victim card:

10. Think of something you want, right
now, but have some trouble getting.

11. Got it?

12. Now, why don't you have it?

13. If you come up with ANY reason
OTHER than your own behaviors,
you're playing the victim card.

14. Harsh, I know. Especially when it
REALLY IS something "out there" that's
holding you back.

15. But even when that's true, pointing
the finger will NEVER do you any good.

16. None of the superstars of history, the
great artists, inventors, creators,
builders ever got where they did by
pointing their fingers long enough and
hard enough.

17. They all accepted where they were,
what they had, and did something
with it.

18. Clearly, some people have a head
start. Some a HUGE one.

19. Great genes, a great bank account, a
nice house from which to operate and
learn about the world as they grow up.

20. But so what?

21. Plenty of people started with
absolutely NOTHING.

22. No money, no family, not even native
English skills, and they built fortunes.

23. Empires.

24. Huge, multi-generational businesses.

25. Well, that's not really true.

26. They DID have something.

27. Vision.

28. Belief.

29. Resilience.

30. That's all you really need.

31. When you look out into the world,
what do you see?

32. A harsh environment that will slap you
down and prove your limitations?

33. Or a huge collection of untapped
opportunities upon which to operate?

34. It all starts on the inside.

35. When you play the victim card, you
might get some help, but that's only to
get you to be quiet and go away.

36. But when you play the HERO card,
when you establish your true place on
this Earth, the opposite will happen.

37. People will WANT to help you.

38. To follow you.

39. To just be around you.
