• About 225,000 registered nurses in Canada
• 90% female and 10% male
• 3,000 new nurses graduate each year
• 80% of nurses work in hospitals, other 20% work in
community clinics, colleges and universities
• 65% Full time and 35% Part time
• All nurses are divided into two levels
• registered nurses with 3-4 years' professional education,
and assistant nurses with 1 year's professional education
