1. Natural Forces Reflection
WildWeather Experiments:
My favorite weather experiment was making a light bulb glow with
static electricity because it was fun and interesting. Some of the
important things I learned about weather were that thunder happens
when there are many electrons in the clouds. If I did more
experiments, I would like to know aboutheat waves.
Scientific Report Writing:
I wrote scientific reports about air pressure, the water cycle, static
electricity and length. The easiest reportfor me to write was about
static electricity because I had heard about electrons before. The
hardest reportfor me to write was about air pressure because I
didn’t know anything about air pressure before and it was complicated
to understand.I am proud of my science report on staticelectricity
because I worked hard on the discussion and explained it well. While
writing these reports, I became better at understanding the science
of weather.
Research:
The natural disaster I researched was volcanoes.
During my research, I found it easy to found information from
books.I found it difficult to found information about detecting
volcanoes.I worked especially hard at organisingmy gimmicks, which
were a volcano model and a pumice stone.Compared with my last
research task, I found this task easier because I had already tried
researching once. The best source of information was a book called
“Investigating Volcanic Eruptions”.If I wrote my speech again, I
would try to add some more entertainment to keep the audience
interested.
Delivering My Speech:
I am proud of my documentary because I worked very hard on it and
it had many gimmicks.I worked especially hard at memorizing my
lines.Next time I deliver a speech I will try to speak more slowly.
What else?
During this natural forces unit I especially enjoyed doing the
experiments. After this unit, I will continue to learn about weather
because it is interesting and important.
