has done for us
4. Desire for Control
• Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will
worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its
own.(Matt 6:34)
5. 2. Devotion without Discipline
• Thought without action
• What we need most but want least
Discipline Needed
• Bible reading time, prayer, worship
• Spiritual accountability
• Confront sin.
Endure hardship as discipline. God is treating you as sons. For
what son is not disciplined by his father?(Heb 12:7)
6. 3. Effort without the Spirit’s
Empowering
• We cannot live the Christian life on our own strength
(Gal 3:3)
• We cannot enjoy all God desires for us if we live by our
self-centred desires (Gal 5:17))
By depending on the Spirit
• We have the ability to live a life pleasing to God (Gal
5:16,25)
• We can share in Christ’s divine nature (2 Pet 1:3-4).
