1. Extensive Campaign in the awareness of students
The outgrowing number of students who join the leftist brought fear not
just to their fellow students, and parents but also to the community and
country.
Studies show that students are targeted in recruitment. A living proof is
the former member of Communist Party of the New People’s Army (CPP-
NPA) Agnes Reano said, “Kung tatanungin niyo ako pag may recruitment
sa school, definitely meron. Kami po ang batayan, buhay na ebidensya.
Na- recruit ako, naging recruiter ako ( If you ask me if there is recruitment
in schools, definitely there is. We are the concrete basis, the living
evidence. I was recruited, and I became a recruiter,” A news report from
the Philippine News agency (PNA) by Jose Cielito Reganit and Joyce Ann
L. on August 14, 2019, 6:00 pm).
Reano was recruited by the Alliance of Students Against Tuition Fee
increase in the early 1980’s at the Ateneo de Naga University when she
was just 13 years old. She also said that the alliance was lending her
books. The first book is “The Prince” by Niccolo Machiavelli and she has
no idea that she was already recruited into NPA.
Before they join these leftist groups, they already have principles they
were fighting for. They have engaged in different oppositions against the
government and the administration of their respective schools.
Most of the students who join these leftist groups are intelligent ones,
because they thought that they already knew what is right and beneficial
for them.
John Carlo Capistrano Alberto, 21 a University of the Philippines Los
Banos (UPLB) student. A native of Pandan town who graduated
valedictorian in its biggest high school. He passed the University of the
Philippines Aptitude Test (UPCAT) and enrolled in Veterinary Medicine.
After his studies began, he became engaged with a progressive youth
group, Anakbayan, and became its vice chairperson.

2. But this January 2019, according to his fellow students, Alberto
reportedly joined the NPA in what turned out to be a short-lived stint.
He was the lone fatality among the NPA guirellas during the encounter
in Sitio Pinamintian San Buenaventura, Luisiana, Laguna at around 9 am.
on Fe. 14, 2019. (A news report from Pandan, Catanduanes on February
24, 2019).
The Panganiban MPS is conducting an extensive campaign against the
rampant recruitment of the above mentioned group at different schools
in the country. Panganiban NHS is one of the schools that was visited by
Panganiban MPS. They state the inadequacy in joining such group.
“Don’t even think of taking part because ones you’re in there’s no way
in going out” the police officer mentioned.
“They are making way to get in the student’s world”, The added.
Use the student’s weakness such as; angry with their family and they
were blinded by anger, they feel unloved and abandoned looking for
someone who can accept them wholeheartedly. And they thought that
the leftist group is the answer to their problems.
Rebellion will bring no good in the country, community and to family thus
it would be a cause of sufferings and even death not just to the person
involve but to their love ones. In regard to this, the Panganiban police
point out in not taking part in any leftist group.
