NOTHING GOOD COMES EASY.docx
1. Firm and bold
A senior high school student Kristel Joy “Tel” Fernandez would never forget this line from
her classmate “Laban lang tel” during the 2019 DSSPC at Bato Rural Development High
School.
She believes that nothing good comes easy. That’s why she never stops dreaming that one day
she would achieve her ultimate dream, to be a regional qualifier. It has been her 4th
year joining
the event. She was once a photojournalist, feature writer, editorial and back to being a feature
writer this year’s DSSPC. She already won on the Summer Press Camp last___, wherein she
got the 5th place
in editorial writing. This time “Tel” didn’t fail her classmates, teachers, and
family who believe in her. She got the 3rd
place in feature writing and now pursuing for the
regional level. She admits that there was a time before the activity that she loses hope. She
just wants to back out because of the idea of losing again as well as financial problems. That’s
why she came to the point that she doesn’t want to join this year’s DSSPC Even though her
family willingly support her she knows the hardship of earning money. Nevertheless, she still
manages to overcome fears and anxiety. She is thankful for the love and support from her
classmates, friends, teachers, and family. Now she is offering her winning to the people behind
her success.
Excellence in academic and arts
She has been consistent honor student since grade 9. That was the time she first step foot
in this school, Panganiban NHS. She even reaches high honor last year. Now she is a grade 12
student. Winning in the field of journalism is not the first time for this lady. She already won
during the Press Camp in Editorial writing. Even a numerous number of winning in school-based
activities such as; essay writing, poster making, spelling and quiz bee contest. She excels both
in academic and arts.
Courage in doing Greatness
A perfect example as a student and as well as a being an eldest child in the family. A person
who put her heart in everything that she does. Studying has always been her priority. She has
a big dream for her family. As the eldest in the family lies a big responsibility to her. And she
would never fail her supportive family. At a young age, she had already planned her future.
Sometimes she encounters problems such as the loads of school projects that make her drained.
But despite the challenges quitting is far from her mind.
She even has an unusual deed and big heart for her classmate. It has been part of her routine
to make a reviewer for their group review. Some would interpret her as “pabibo”, but she
didn’t lose courage beyond criticism. She wants a result and would never tolerate a false
attitude as copying. What a big heart for a high school student.
As she journeys to the next stage of her life, will she achieve all the things that she dreams
of. Stop worrying, wondering and doubting. Have faith that things will work out. Maybe not
the way she planned, but how it's meant to be. Will she serve as an inspiration to everybody
that doing better than criticizing.
