Number of students
Students posses a minute amount of knowledge
on heathy eating.
Time allotted to teach the lesson- (35 minutes.)

5. Objectives
At the end of this lesson students would be able to:
List healthy and unhealthy foods after having
discussed in their groups the foods they eat.
Identify healthy and unhealthy foods show on
a screen.
Work as a team to get a favourable outcome.

6. What do you
remember from
the last class we
did on foo d and
nutrition ?

7. Review: Six food groups;
fruit, vegetables, grains,
fats & sweets, meats
&beans, dairy.

8. In Groups 2 groups of 10
discuss the foods you eat on a
daily basis and state whether the
foods are healthy or unhealthy.
(5 minutes)

9. One representative from
each group present what
the group has discussed.

10. Group game
• Identifying healthy and unhealthy foods
(family feud)

11. Rules:
One player from each group stand at
the buzzer when the picture appears on
the screen the player that presses the
buzzer first answers whether the food
seen is healthy or unhealthy.
It the first player answers correctly, the
group wins a point if not correct the
teacher states the answer and move to
another picture.

12. Each player gets to respond to
a picture.
The theme with the most
points at the end of the session
wins and gets a prize.
