Unit Assignments
Unit II Case Study
One of your closest friends, Jim, has been recently promoted to
Vice President of Company XYZ. Company XYZ is a
thriving company that is known for being strictly about task
management. Jim has always found this practice unsettling,
and he wants to change the culture of Company XYZ. He is well
liked and respected by his peers, which is one of the
reasons for his promotion.
The company has seen tremendous growth over the years, but
the past two years have been trending downward. A
recent employee survey has caught Jim’s attention. The survey
polled employee job satisfaction and leadership
satisfaction. The employee satisfaction rating was, on average,
5 out of 10, and the leadership satisfaction rating was 4
out of 10 on average. The scores have other members of
management puzzled, but Jim believes that increasing these
ratings could turn things around.
Company XYZ’s yearly leadership conference is a month away,
and Jim has been asked to speak on achieving
organizational objectives. Jim knows that you have recently
enrolled in a management course and wants to hear some
fresh perspectives. You will see Jim next week, and he has
given you a list of things to consider prior to the meeting:
entify a strategy to increase the leadership satisfaction
rating.
rating.
why?
Jim wants to read over your suggestions prior to the meeting, so
he wants a document that is a minimum of two double-
spaced pages in length. Be sure to cite, in APA format, any
sources used to influence your response.
Information about accessing the Blackboard Grading Rubric for
this assignment is provided below.
Unit VIII Final Paper
Based on information covered in each unit of the course, create
your own personal theory on leadership following the core
functions listed throughout the course.
Make sure to answer the following questions:
model?
leadership model?
skills enhance your model?
mailto:[email protected]
MSL 6000, Psychological Foundations of Leadership 3
emphasizes?
of your leadership model in your personal life?
of your leadership model in your professional life?
Blanchard situational leadership model and how
situational leadership applies to your personal model.
Your final paper should be a minimum of three double-spaced
pages in length—not including the title and reference
pages. Make sure to use the textbook and a minimum of two
scholarly resources to support your statements. References
and citations should follow APA formatting.
Information about accessing the Blackboard Grading Rubric for
this assignment is provided below.
APA Guidelines
The application of the APA writing style shall be practical,
functional, and appropriate to each academic level, with the
primary purpose being the documentation (citation) of sources.
CSU requires that students use APA style for certain
papers and projects. Students should always carefully read and
follow assignment directions and review the associated
grading rubric when available. Students can find CSU’s Citation
Guide by clicking here. This document includes examples
and sample papers and provides information on how to contact
the CSU Success Center.
Grading Rubrics
This course utilizes analytic grading rubrics as tools for your
professor in assigning grades for all learning activities. Each
rubric serves as a guide that communicates the expectations of
the learning activity and describes the criteria for each
level of achievement. In addition, a rubric is a reference tool
that lists evaluation criteria and can help you organize your
efforts to meet the requirements of that learning activity. It is
imperative for you to familiarize yourself with these rubrics
because these are the primary tools your professor uses for
assessing learning activities.
Rubric categories include: (1) Discussion Board, (2) Assessment
(Written Response), and (3) Assignment. However, it is
possible that not all of the listed rubric types will be used in a
single course (e.g., some courses may not have
Assessments).
The Discussion Board rubric can be found within Unit I’s
Discussion Board submission instructions.
The Assessment (Written Response) rubric can be found
embedded in a link within the directions for each Unit
Assessment. However, these rubrics will only be used when
written-response questions appear within the Assessment.
Each Assignment type (e.g., article critique, case study,
research paper) will have its own rubric. The Assignment
rubrics
are built into Blackboard, allowing students to review them
prior to beginning the Assignment and again once the
Assignment has been scored. This rubric can be accessed via the
Assignment link located within the unit where it is to be
submitted. Students may also access the rubric through the
course menu by selecting “Tools” and then “My Grades.”
Again, it is vitally important for you to become familiar with
these rubrics because their application to your
Discussion Boards, Assessments, and Assignments is the
method by which your instructor assigns all grades.
Communication Forums
These are non-graded discussion forums that allow you to
communicate with your professor and other students.
Participation in these discussion forums is encouraged, but not
required. You can access these forums with the buttons in
the Course Menu. Instructions for subscribing/unsubscribing to
these forums are provided below.

He is well liked and respected by his peers, which is one of the reasons for his promotion. The company has seen tremendous growth over the years, but the past two years have been trending downward. A recent employee survey has caught Jim’s attention. The survey polled employee job satisfaction and leadership satisfaction. The employee satisfaction rating was, on average, 5 out of 10, and the leadership satisfaction rating was 4 out of 10 on average. The scores have other members of management puzzled, but Jim believes that increasing these ratings could turn things around. Company XYZ’s yearly leadership conference is a month away, and Jim has been asked to speak on achieving organizational objectives. Jim knows that you have recently enrolled in a management course and wants to hear some fresh perspectives. You will see Jim next week, and he has given you a list of things to consider prior to the meeting: entify a strategy to increase the leadership satisfaction rating. rating.

  • 8. Grading Rubrics This course utilizes analytic grading rubrics as tools for your professor in assigning grades for all learning activities. Each rubric serves as a guide that communicates the expectations of the learning activity and describes the criteria for each level of achievement. In addition, a rubric is a reference tool that lists evaluation criteria and can help you organize your efforts to meet the requirements of that learning activity. It is imperative for you to familiarize yourself with these rubrics because these are the primary tools your professor uses for assessing learning activities. Rubric categories include: (1) Discussion Board, (2) Assessment (Written Response), and (3) Assignment. However, it is possible that not all of the listed rubric types will be used in a single course (e.g., some courses may not have Assessments). The Discussion Board rubric can be found within Unit I’s Discussion Board submission instructions. The Assessment (Written Response) rubric can be found embedded in a link within the directions for each Unit Assessment. However, these rubrics will only be used when written-response questions appear within the Assessment. Each Assignment type (e.g., article critique, case study, research paper) will have its own rubric. The Assignment rubrics are built into Blackboard, allowing students to review them prior to beginning the Assignment and again once the Assignment has been scored. This rubric can be accessed via the Assignment link located within the unit where it is to be

Students may also access the rubric through the course menu by selecting “Tools” and then “My Grades.” Again, it is vitally important for you to become familiar with these rubrics because their application to your Discussion Boards, Assessments, and Assignments is the method by which your instructor assigns all grades. Communication Forums These are non-graded discussion forums that allow you to communicate with your professor and other students. Participation in these discussion forums is encouraged, but not required. You can access these forums with the buttons in the Course Menu.
