leadership to helping Wales become a Digital Nation
To build a shared understanding of how we will move to a common
digital technology platform for Welsh public services.
To foster good (and different!) relationships
- between the private and public sectors in Wales
– and between ourselves!

Working Together, Learning from Each Other
• Improvements in Public Services critically dependent on ICT
• Investment in PS ICT has declined in real terms
• No collective understanding of what Wales spends on ICT
• We must find better ways of working together
• Private sector brings economic benefit to Wales
• Need to move from just having traditional contractual relationships
• Between us all we have some very good people
- but there is often a low critical mass of specialist skills
• Many hundreds of local systems which makes it difficult to share information
across sectors - and it’s not cost effective
• Some (inter) national ICT infrastructure (Public Sector Broadband)
• Some local pockets of excellent ideas and ICT services
• Need a “Common Platform” to Support Collaboration
- Innovation and Exchange - as well as technology.
