WHAT IS TOURNUS?
TOURnUS is a venture dedicated to support
  tourists when visiting unknown places
We are a gang of four, with different background:
  Computer science, graphics design, tourism and
  philosophy (!)
We are currently seeking our first round of
 investment, to finish the development of the
 software for mobile devices

WHAT IS TOURNUS?
TOURnUS uses smart phones to provide tourist
  with relevant information in two ways:
  Through a mobile application similar to a
  guide, but built socially
  By providing a ‘Help me’ button that connects a
  tourist with a service center

WHAT IS TOURNUS?
The mobile guide is an empty canvas painted by
  tourists when visiting a place
  They can mark the current location using GPS
  and leave a comment about it
It is also used to trigger spontaneous interactions
    across co-located tourists
  To recommend things that are happening now!

WHAT IS TOURNUS?
The main differentiation point with other guides is
  the availability of a service center that helps
  tourists to overcome the language barrier
Why?
  One of the main complains from English-
  speakers when visiting Latin American countries
  is that people does not speak English in general
How does it work???

SAMPLE SCENARIO

         1. Peter is visiting Santiago, Chile. He is wondering
         around downtown when lunch time comes.


               2. He asks for recommendation to people passing
               by, however they do not speak English or do not
               know about a place that meets Peter’s desires.


                        3.Given this situation, he decides to ask for
                        help to the TOURnUS application.

SAMPLE SCENARIO

         4. Peter is then connected to the TOURnUS call center.
         An English-speaking operator handles his call.

         5. Peter asks her about some restaurant. To make
         their work easier, the operator ask Peter to send his
         current location, by pressing a ‘Share location’
         button.


                        6.The operator sees Peter’s location on the
                        map and searches for restaurants that fit his
                        request.

SAMPLE SCENARIO

         7. The operator draws direction on the map and send
         them to Peter. He now can go to the restaurant and have
         lunch.
              8. At the restaurant, the waiter leaves the menu to
              Peter. Unfortunately, everything is in Spanish.

                               9. The waiter does not speak
                               English, so he cannot explain the
                               menu to Peter. He then access the
                               ‘help me’ button and sends a
                               picture of the menu to the
                               operator.

SAMPLE SCENARIO

         10. The operator reads through the menu, explaining the
         dishes to him. After Peter decides what to order, he gives
         the phone to the waiter, so he can talk with the operator
         and order the food.



                      11. After lunch, Peter is happy and ready to
                      continue his adventure. He calls back the
                      operator and asks for recommendations
                      given that the restaurant one was perfect for
                      him.

WHY TOURISTS?
Expanding market: more than 3 million people visits
   Chile every year.
From those, more than 536,000 tourists comes from
   countries with smartphone penetration higher than
   50%, giving us an expected market of 265,000
   tourists per year!
And only in Chile! In Argentina, the number of tourists
   from those countries rounds 1,150,000, while in
   other countries like Brazil, this number arises to
   2,100,000.

TOURISM AS A SERVICE
The concept is useful in cities that are willing to
  provide better services to tourists, but do not
  have enough resources to invest teaching a
  language or translating all the services that are
  available in the city.
It can be used all year long, or when some event
   happens, like the world cup!  opportunity for
   increasing in revenues

POTENTIAL FOR OTHER MARKETS
The idea is suited for tourism, but it can used in
  different markets where call-centers are used:
- Customer service
- Yellow-pages like services
- Telemarketing
- Among others!
