Clockwork
By BGRD Productions
Character A
• Character A is a mysterious killer who
  wears a mask
• This shows he has connotations of
  mystery (something to hide)
• Mask is iconic used in the film V For
  Vendetta also the symbol of
  anonymous (a extremist organization
  promoting fairness and justice)
Character B

• Character B is a morally complex
  victim
• The audience as well as the character
  is confused about his life
• Used to represent that there has been
  more than one victim
Character C

• Character C seems to be and innocent
victim however ends up being the
catalyst for the rest of the story

• We see her crying over a grave this
shows that she has had a troubled
  past
Character D

• Character D is the father of Character
  A

• He is used in a flashback to set up an
  enigma

• Although he is only in film for a short
time he is still a key character as he is
  involved in key events
Narrative Outline
               Storyboard 1

Here we can see Character D writing his will
to Character A and holding the pocket watch
that is the turning point for the film
Narrative Outline
                    Storyboard 2

Here we can see Character B walking through a
corridor he seems nervous he will be with two others
talking about going out to the woods then we will see
Character B decide to go look for the location on his
                own as they are lost
Narrative Outline
                  Storyboard 3

In this section of the story Character B is being
followed by Character A we will use music to create
suspense during this sequence then we see
Character A Standing over Character B’s body the
                       next day
Narrative Outline
                 Storyboard 4

From the POV of Character A
we can then see them looking
at Character C, Character C is
crying over a grave then they
look at the pocket watch then
   hear Character A saying
“Times up” as it cuts to his
 mask and the pocket watch
 dropping to the ground and
   Character C picking it up
Themes and messages
• The human nature towards fear
• The humans will to survive
• The mystery that a mask can incite
• Using filming and editing techniques
  to create suspense
• Exploring the ways of creating power
  in some characters
Codes and conventions we will use
Conventions that we wish to
incorporate  - Enigma (Flash Backs),
Mystery (Character/story line),
confusion, Darkness (The Unknown),
Death, Morally complex character (Is
really mysterious and unknown to the
audience) - “Narrative Retardation”,
The use of silence - this is used to create
tension and suspense between the
audience and maybe characters -
Pathetic Fallacy - Calm before the storm
- Foreshadowing what’s to come later
on in the film
Practical details
We intend to film somewhere close to the school
as this would work best for all members in the
group as it is easy to get too. For casting we will
use all 4 members of the group one more girl
and a male adult. We want to use all natural
lighting so filming between midday and late
afternoon would be optimal. A problem in the
group is that Danny is away for two weeks
starting today so he will miss out on the lessons
we have however we intend to use technology
such as Skype to stay in communication with
him and he will make sure he is still making
             regular posts on the blog
