Heroes in New Zealand
1. We had to find out about the country of
New Zealand where we found 12 local
heroes.
The twuelve local heores are a series of
bronze busts.
They are located in the center of the city of
Christburch.
They are made to commemorate the local
people who are outstading in their
respective fields.
2. Don Beaven was named “hero” for his services in the
medicine and in the community. He was born in New
Zealand on August 31 ,in 1933. He started studying
medicine in the university of Otago-Harvard.
He was teacher in the medicine school in Christchuch,in
1960 and he was a teacher in the fundation school in
1971.
In 1989 and 2005 he was named with “Honors of the New
Year” for his services in medicine.
In 2009 he was commemorated as one of the 12 local
heroes.
In Christchurch it was created a Statue of him in the arts
center.

4. Frank Stoddarol Dickson was born on October 6 in
1875 and he died on February 24, 1953. He was an
American representative of Illinois.
He attended school and graduated from High school
in Decontur, Illinois in 1896.
He was a private serviceman in the fourth regiment,
in fonty of Illinois. Dickson was elected republican
to the 59th congress.
He was elected general assistant of Illinois between
1910-1922.
He was assistant of the finance director in the United
States transportation board,and in the emergency
fleet from 1922 to 1924.

6. Richard Hadlee was born on 3 July,1951 in New
Zealand .
Nowadays he is 66 years old. Richard is the son of
Walter Hadlee and his brothers are Dayle,and
Barry Hadlee.
He was the best player of cricket in the world and
had a cricket club named after him.
