Zhubei is located in northwest Hsinchu County, Taiwan. It is situated between hills and plains, making the soil fertile for agriculture, especially rice. Once an agricultural town known as Bamboo Town, it has transformed into the political center of Hsinchu County after the county government moved there. As a satellite city of Hsinchu City and home to the Hsinchu Science Park, improved transportation infrastructure and the presence of colleges and universities have led to population growth in recent years.
