Eric is a lonely 13-year-old boy who lives an ordinary life with uninterested parents in Barking. While at the park one day, a mysterious and glamorous girl appears and takes Eric on a magical day trip to London, showing him the realities of life outside of Barking. At the end of the day, the girl disappears as quickly as she appeared, leaving Eric with dreams of escape from his bleak life through memories of their adventure.

He lives an ordinary life and lives with both parents, but neither takes an interest in him as they are both committed to their work alone. Lonely and curious of what world is like outside Barking, Erics future looks bleak. One day while on the swings in his local park a girl suddenly appears out of nowhere. She is like nothing he has ever seen before, mysterious , glamorous and she makes him feel free. They get on a train to anywhere and land in London where she shows him the reality of life. He see’s the good and bad sides of people and explores the town and its attractions. At the end of the day they return back to the park in which they share an ice scream and smile. He takes his eyes of her for a second and when he looks back...she is gone. Just like that he is back to his ordinary life but this time he has something to dream for, a way to escape his life.
