God Is Not Angry With You
1. God is Not AngryWithYou
and PunishingYou forYour
Sins-We are Redeemed!
2. Ephesians:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by
the will of God,
To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in
Christ Jesus:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every
spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ
3. 4 just as He chose us in Him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be holy
and without blame before Him in love, 5 having
predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus
Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure
of His will.
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which
He made us accepted in the Beloved.
4. 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of
His grace.
- Our sins are forgiven. So what are we
redeemed from?
- We are “redeemed” from the penalty of sin.
5. Redeem – Greek word “lutron”
Thayer: pay a ransom, liberate many from the
misery and penalty of their sins
6. We have the idea that our sins are forgiven, but
they will come back to haunt us.
I have to pay the price for my mistakes.
You reap what you sow.
7. Jesus died on the cross and took the penalty for
your sins. They will not come back to haunt you!
What about God is just? God judged Jesus for
our sins and put the penalty of our sins on Jesus!
He is a just God! He will not judge the same sin
and iniquity twice!
8. Exodus 20:5 you shall not bow down to them
nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers
upon the children to the third and fourth
generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing
mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and
keep My commandments.
9. Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I
will make with the house of Israel after those
days, saith the Lord…
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness,
and their sins and their iniquities will I remember
no more.
10. Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from
the curse of the law, having become a curse for us
(for it is written,“Cursed is everyone who hangs
on a tree”),
14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon
the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive
the promise of the Spirit through faith.
11. Romans 4:6 Even as David also describeth the
blessedness of the man, unto whom God
imputeth righteousness without works,
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are
forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not
impute sin.
12. Why don’t people seem to walk in redemption?
- They haven't heard the good news
- Incorrect teachings “you reap what you sow”
- We need to hear it, we need to believe it, we
need to say it!
13. Psalm107:1
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
2
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the
enemy
14. I Corinthians 11:24
“Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for
you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the
same manner He also took the cup after supper,
saying,“This cup is the new covenant in My blood.
This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance
of Me.”
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink
this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He
comes.
