1. An inconvenient truth personal comment
I used to be a skeptic on this topic; the warming of the earth seemed to me
and strategy from industrialized countries to stop third world countries
developing. In my personal life I have seen things around me in nature that make
me think that the climate is getting hotter and animals, as well as places such as the
Antarctic and the oceans have been suffering these effects.
There is a group of people that want to tell us, that there is nothing we can
do to prevent this from coming to pass and we just have to tolerate it, USA and
Australia by not signing the Kyoto Protocol make me think of that, although they
have the higher rates of carbon dioxide emission, they have not done anything at
all.
We have seen warming and cooling patterns in the past, though not a
single one has ever been as severe or sustained as the one were in right now. The
only things that have changed are that we are an industrialized world and the CO
emissions and global warming became important topics. People that think over 6
billion humans on the planet with developed nations rising, have no effect on the
climate, are completely wrong. When there is economical interest, it is difficult to
think in caring about the world, this reflects that the important things to some
countries are to make money, no matter what happens with the population, earth
and future generations.
We already know everything we should know to solve the carbon dioxide
and climate problem, we have the tools, and protocols are known by the nations, so
why haven’t we started to do anything yet? We all know that if we want to change
something we should start from ourselves, by using less water, electricity, cars,
aerosols, and recycling,
The solutions are in our hands we just have to make them happen, we
have the starring roles on this issue we must explain to our children that the have
to care about the planet. Some people need to open their eyes and realize, we can
do something and we do not have to give up our lives or money in doing so, just a
change from where we get our energy and what we do with our waste.
