Life (1/2) He was borned in Napoles the 26th of October in 1685 When he was a child he was teached by his father He became composer with sixteen years in the Spanish Court of Napoles In 1704 he revised the Irene opera of Carlo Francesco Pollarolo In 1709 he went Rome for enter the service of the polish queen Maria Casimira
Life (2/2) He was the chapel master in Saint Peter Basilica from 1715 to 1719 He travelled to Lisboa in 1720 and he met there Maria Caterina Gentili, his first wife, in 1728 In 1733 he went to Spain, and when Maria died, he married a spanish who was called Anastasia Maxarti Ximenes. He had two sons with her. He stayed in Madrid until his death, the 23th July of 1757 at the age of 71 years
Relation with Spain Although he was Italian, he was much more known in Spain One of the reasons is because in that time Napoles was part of the Crown of Spain, and the other is his second wife, who was spanish His most known music was written also in Spain
Music He played organ and clavecin He was organist and compositor of the royal chapel of Spanish Court in Napoles He revised the opera Irene in Napoles In Rome, he composed some operas for queen Casimira and was the master of chapel for a while He taught music to a portuguese princess in Lisboa
Music in Spain He was the music master of the queen from 1733 until her death He composed 555 sonatas bipartitas for keyboard This are his most famous music, because is very different from the serious music he had played before. They were songs more spanish.
