“Get Excited” – Kick-off the New Year with a Bang! Jan, 2014
In the Queen’s speech this year she mentioned the importance of
finding the balance between ‘reflection and action’. The holiday period
at this time of year is often a good time to reflect and look back over the
past year and forward to the next. So what can you start changing today
so that you can multiply your income and improve your lifestyle?
One idea that Dale Carnegie suggested was to be more enthusiastic. But
how do you do that I hear you ask? His suggestion was to act more
enthusiastically. By ‘acting’ more enthusiastic you ‘become’ more
enthusiastic. “Enthusiasm”, he says, “is by far the highest paid quality on
earth, probably because it is one of the rarest; yet it is one of the most
contagious. It will help you overcome fear, become more successful in
business, make more money, enjoy a healthier, richer and happier life”.
Pretty convincing words from one of the most successful individuals in
the last century. I suggest you give it a go in 2014. On a final note I
thought I would share this poem with you as the timing is perfect with
the kick-off of the New Year. It is written by Herbert Kauffman and has a
very appropriate title…
Here’s to ‘Victory’ in 2014!

‘VICTORY’
You are the man who used to boast
That you’d achieve the uttermost,
Some day.
You merely wished a show,
To demonstrate how much you know
And prove the distance you can go…
Another year we’ve just passed through.
What new ideas came to you?
How many big things did you do?
Time… left twelve fresh months in your care
How many of them did you share
With opportunity and dare
Again where you so often missed?
We do not find you on the list of Makers Good.
Explain the fact!
Ah no, ‘twas not the chance you lacked!
As usual – you failed to act!
