2. Support FOR students BY
students
Peer mentoring is a mutual way of learning and allowing both
participants to develop transferable skills that will help them during their
time at FDU School of Pharmacy and beyond.
For mentees, the program provides a great source of support from
someone who is a few steps ahead in their student pharmacist career.
3. Benefits to Mentees
Gain practical advice, encouragement and support
Learn from the experiences of others
Increase social and academic confidence
Become more empowered to make decisions
Develop communication, study and personal skills
Develop strategies for dealing with both personal and academic
issues
Identify goals and establish a sense of direction
Gain valuable insight into the next semester
4. Transition Mentoring
Transition mentoring is for new first year students. New
student might be new to the area, living away from home for
the first time, or returning to education as a mature student.
Having the support of a current student, who remembers
what it was like for them when they started pharmacy
school can help new students to settle in quickly and make
the most of their time here at FDU.
5. Mentors can provide their Mentees with
support on:
Finding services on campus
Making friends and getting involved with activities
Getting to grips with the University processes

Shopping and budgeting
