6. MATTHEW 5:10 (NASB)
Blessed are those who have been
persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
7. WE ARE NOT JUST A CHRISTIAN FAMILY,
WE ARE A CHRIST-CENTERED HOME.
8. IF YOU ARE A CHRIST-CENTERED FAMILY,
YOU WILL BE PERSECUTED.
9. MATTHEW 5:11-12 (NASB)
11 Blessed are you when people insult you
and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds
of evil against you because of Me.
12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in
heaven is great; for in the same way they
persecuted the prophets who were before
you.
10. ACTS 5:40-42 (NASB)
40 They took his advice; and after calling the
apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them
not to speak in the name of Jesus,
and then released them.
41 So they went on their way from the presence of
the Council, rejoicing that they had been
considered worthy to suffer shame for His name.
42 And every day, in the temple and from house to
house, they kept right on teaching and preaching
Jesus as the Christ.
11. LUKE 6:27-36 (NASB)
27 “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you,
28 bless those who curse you, pray for those
who mistreat you.
29 Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the
other also; and whoever takes away your coat,
do not withhold your shirt from him either.
30 Give to everyone who asks of you, and
whoever takes away what is yours, do not
demand it back.
12. 31 Treat others the same way you want them to
treat you.
32 If you love those who love you, what credit
is that to you? For even sinners love those who
love them.
33 If you do good to those who do good to you,
what credit is that to you? For even sinners do
the same.
34 If you lend to those from whom you expect to
receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners
lend to sinners in order to receive back the
same amount.
13. 35 But love your enemies, and do good, and
lend, expecting nothing in return; and your
reward will be great, and you will be sons of the
Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful
and evil men.
36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
15. PREPARING YOUR FAMILY FOR PERSECUTION
1. EXPECT IT.
2 TIMONTHY 3:12 (NASB)
Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus
will be persecuted.
16. JOHN 15:18-20 (NASB)
18 “If the world hates you, you know that it has
hated Me before it hated you.
19 If you were of the world, the world would
love its own; but because you are not of the
world, but I chose you out of the world,
because of this the world hates you.
20 Remember the word that I said to you,
‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they
persecuted Me, they will also persecute you;
if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
17. PREPARING YOUR FAMILY FOR PERSECUTION
2. ENDURE IT.
1 CORINTHIANS 4:12 (NASB)
and we toil, working with our own hands;
when we are reviled, we bless;
when we are persecuted, we endure;
19. Don’t whine, gripe about it (complain),
retaliate (revenge).
JESUS ENDURED THE CROSS.
It unites your family… Strengthens you.
20. When family identity is strong,
peer pressure is weak but
when family identity is weak,
peer pressure is strong.
21. 1 PETER 1:6-7 (NLT)
6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead,
even though you must endure many trials for
a little while. 7 These trials will show that your
faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and
purifies gold though your faith is far more precious
than mere gold. So when your faith remains
strong through many trials, it will bring you much
praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus
Christ is revealed to the whole world.
22. PREPARING YOUR FAMILY FOR PERSECUTION
3. EMBRACE IT.
1 PETER 4:12-13 (NASB)
12 Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery
trials you are going through, as if something
strange were happening to you.
13 Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you
partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you
will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory
when it is revealed to all the world.
23. 2 CORINTHIANS 1:5 (NASB)
For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in
abundance, so also our comfort is abundant
through Christ.
28. REVELATION 21:4 (NLT)
He will wipe every tear from their eyes,
and there will be no more death or sorrow
or crying or pain.
All these things are gone forever.
29. JOSHUA 21:45 (NASB)
Not one of all the LORD's good
promises to the house of Israel failed;
everything was fulfilled.
