1. 'I am responsible'
A Parent is disappointed that one’s child doesn’t respect elders A Child is joyous on receiving a brand new toy A Teenager is dejected for having lost an online game An Engineer is excited at the prospects of an upcoming product launch A Farmer is depressed at the devastation of crops due to heavy rains A Doctor is happy at the dramatic recovery of one’s patient
2. A Business person is gloomy at the market forecast not being upbeat A Bureaucrat heaves a sigh of relief at having walked the thin line between politicians and citizens A Lawyer is perplexed with the turn of events at the altar of justice A Soldier is satisfied to have given nothing less than one’s 100% A Police officer is frustrated for not being able to discharge one’s duties despite the uniform A Politician is ecstatic at having won the elections on ethical grounds A Teacher is sad to note that test excellence doesn’t always translate to great citizenship A Student is thrilled at passing the examinations with flying colors At dawn, dusk, or anytime in between, all pray with an intention to fulfill a wish, to get rid of misery or, to express gratitude. In return, the response has always been, ‘You are responsible’. Very similar to the response of a Master to a mischievous student: the student intends to prove the Master wrong by clutching an insect in his fist and asks if the insect is alive or dead, to which the Master responds: “It is in your hands”. The student had planned to kill the insect if the Master indicated that the insect was alive and keep it alive otherwise, before opening the fist.
