(A federally funded research and development center providing engineering support to the United States
Military. The Eatontown site has approximately 200 employees.)
Provide day-to-day technical support of complex, integrated and dynamic laboratory technology systems with
responsibility for installation, troubleshooting, network configuration, and purchasing of maintenance, equipment
and supplies for 150 Windows, Linux, and Macintosh computers. Manage systems administration of core and
lab site servers and TCP/IP LAN networks involving maintenance, updating, operational auditing and
troubleshooting to ensure security of file server.
Accomplishments:
• Won Crystal Flame Award symbolizing courage in the face of adversity during World Trade Center rescue
and recovery efforts following 9/11. MITRE worked in conjunction with NYFD and NYPD to capture satellite
images to identify “hotspots” at Ground Zero: areas with fire risk, or possible survivors, 2001.
• Established Windows 2003 domain comprised of two domain controllers with one-way trust relationship to
corporate domain.
• Installed Exchange 2003 server with 100 users; migrated 50 users from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003.
• Setup and maintained Blackberry Enterprise Server and GoodLink Server supporting 90 Blackberry and
TREO wireless handhelds.
• Migrated entire site for 150 employees from Novell file and print services to Microsoft Windows NT file and
print services.
• Managed transition involving implementation of mail server from DEC TeamLinks to Microsoft Exchange,
and later to Netscape Messenger as part of site integration of 4000 MITRE employees.
