This is our 2011-2013 interiors portfolio. Our goal is to meet our clients expectations, exceed them, and make their spaces an expression of their emotions thru our holistic approach and rigorous attention to detail.
3. COMMUNICATING EMOTIONS AND
FEELINGS FROM WITHIN TO CREATE A
BEAUTIFUL DIFFERENCE
It is all about emotions and how Sandra Diaz-Velasco commu-
nicates them with her own artistic approach. Hand sketches
or computer based imagery are key to the one on one re-
lationship she develops with her clients, making sure their
feelings, wishes and dreams are expressed thru an engaging
and fluid design process.
She values historic styles and traditions by referencing them
in her projects, but she does not let any aesthetic or brand
limit herself or her clients expectations. “ Selecting an an-
tique chandelier in Paris, or a rug in Istanbul adds very emo-
tional feelings to any project. There is a wealth of styles and
traditions wanting to be explored”. Extensive travel and rare
findings are part of the legacy she shares with her clients.
Sandra’s artistic approach is deeply emphasized on the de-
tails: “Details are extremely important in a design solution.
As an architect you are able to see and develop the project
on a large comprehensive scale, but as interior designer you
can approach design in its details. At the end of the day those
details are the ones the owners are going to appreciate and
live with on a daily basis”
“EOLO A&I DESIGN is a concept of energy flow, constant reno-
vation and environment preservation. Team work at every
level from clients, to consultants to collaborators had cre-
ated a beautiful difference at the end of every project”. Says
Sandra about her Miami based Architecture and Interiors firm
established in 2008. Sandra’s formal education and registra-
tion in Architecture plus her 20 years of practicing experience
ensures a sound design solution to each of her projects. Her
background allows her to artfully integrate architecture, in-
4 terior architecture, finishes, art and furnishings in a way that 5
the final result is neither formulaic or predictable.
4. Prior to establishing her own design boutique as she calls it,
Sandra was a principal project designer for Interior Architec-
ture at the award winning firm Taylor & Taylor Partnership for
Hi-end Residential Architecture and Interior Design in Miami
Beach. Her design leadership helped to create an impressive
body of residential interior architecture for the firm. She also
served as project designer for Dean Lewis Architecture, an
avant garde firm whose principal was part of the renowned
Arquitectonica.
Sandra began her design career as an architect for Coomeva, a
recognized firm for the health and financing sectors in Co-
lombia. She practiced as architect at national level in charge
of the Architecture and Interiors Department for the company
and her branding strategy. “I had to travel the country creating
architecture and interiors in order to reinforce their corporative
image. This was a rare opportunity to create a unified vision
reflective of the diverse city cultures. One of the projects,
the company’s head quarters, had 99,000 sq. ft. of corporate
offices, a bank, a travel agency, a restaurant, a theater and
doctors offices”.
Her work has been featured in the Miami Herald, Home Design
& Remodeling Show., and was a guest designer in the TV show
6 in the Mix for NBC6 South Florida.
Sandra received a Professional Degree in Architecture in 1995
from the University del Valle in Colombia, and validated her
career in US thru NCARB (National Council of Architectural
Registration Board). She is licensed in the State of Florida to
practice Architecture and Interior Design. Also accredited by
the GCBI (Green Building Council Institute) as a LEED BD+C
professional for sustainable design. As a young professional
woman she has been engaged in several organizations work-
ing for the advancement of women in the design, engineer-
ing and construction fields. She is a board member for AWAE
(Association of Women Architects and Engineers)as well as an
Associate to local chapters of the ASID (American Association
6 7
