2. • After a lot of planning and thought I have
decided to call my magazine ‘Amplify’ as it is
related to music. I feel that it will link to a rock
and alternative music genre, which is what I
would like my magazine to be associated with.

3. • I feel that there is no specific magazine on the
market which targets an audience of 17-18
year olds who are interested in
rock/alternative music. One of my main
magazine influences is NME as it’s main aim is
to promote upcoming artists as well as
interviews with popular bands.

4. • After examining magazine conventions as well as
carrying out market research, I have decided on
several things which I would like to include. I
would like to use a lot of secondary images on
the front cover to intrigue the reader into what
will be included on the double page spread. Also I
will most likely stick to the normal conventions
which are included in a magazine for example a
bold masthead and a specific colour scheme so
that it doesn’t confuse the readers.

5. • After much debate I would like my magazine
to be based on the genre of alternative music.
The main reason why I have chosen this genre
is because I have a lot of knowledge on it due
to a lot of bands which I listen to being in that
specific genre.

6. • I am going to have a colour scheme of red,
white and grey as I feel that these colours suit
an alternative genre. For my images of my
models I wanted them to wear quite dark
clothing so that the main focus of the image
are their faces. This will also promote the
magazine name if the masthead is in red.

7. • I would like the front cover to include a close
up shot of one of the artists from the band so
that there is strong eye contact. I will also use
the bands logo as well as pugs to intrigue the
reader to wanting to look at the interview
with the band. I will use secondary images of
the whole band together so that it shows that
the article is going to be focused on the whole
band

8. • I will use both images of the band as well as
singular images of each band member.
• I am going to have different sized fonts to
show the different articles that will be
included in my magazine.
• Some of the secondary articles will be taken
from the recommendations I received when I
was doing my market research.

9. • I want the double page spread to include an
interview with the band to try and promote
their new album. I will try and ask exclusive
questions so that it can intrigue the reader
into wanting to read the article
