2. All regular verbs add “ed”
in Simple Past Tense.
He played football
last Sunday.
He cooked lunch
last week.

3. When a regular verb ends
in a consonant + “y”,
the “y” is changed to “ied”
He dried the dishes
after dinner.

4. When a regular verb has one
syllable and ends in
consonat + vowel + consonant,
the final consonant is doubled
before adding “ed” to form the
simple past tense.
(Exceptions: verbs that end in
“w” or “x”)
