2. Genre
The genre of my film is romance and drama. I will show this in the opening
sequence by the last point that is going to be mentioned to be love and this
then sets the tone for the rest of the film to go into.
3. Characters
Young female- Main Character
Young male- Main Character
Children and parents (nature)
A Young Couple (love)
A Group of Friends (friendship/art)
Food Eater (food)
4. Narrative Opening Scene
It starts with a person in the middle of a busy scene in a city, but everything
is moving past her really quickly around them. This is a still standing time
lapse.
Then a voice over starts of that character’s voice speaking about how fast life
can go and if you don’t stop you miss it.
She then continues to speak about what you can miss out on, including
nature, art and love. Whilst all of these are being mentioned, you see these
as well as people enjoying them.
Once it goes back to the busy street a man bumps into the girl and takes her
back into reality, out of the daydream. This will be her love interest in the
rest of the film.
5. Narrative Complete Film
After opening scene they go their separate ways and go to get ready for a
party which is later that week.
At the party they notice each other across the room and start talking and get
to know each other, they really get on and begin to see each other for dates.
However she feels like they should break up because she’s joining the army
and doesn’t want to keep him waiting.
They realise that they still love each other and begin to miss each other. So
then the man signs up for the army once she is out in a warzone in order for
them to be together.
He surprises her and they get back together and work in the army together.
In the last fight before all the soldiers are due to be sent home from the war,
unfortunately the man gets shot and dies, leaving her on the earth alone.
She goes back home and attends his funeral and makes a speech for him. It
ends with her throwing a rose onto the coffin as it lowers into the ground.

7. Inspiration
With the voiceover I got my inspiration from the film opening of Love Actually,
where the scenes of Heathrow Airport are shown. As in that you don’t actually
see his face but he is talking about the world and his thoughts.
8. Inspiration
With one of the characters going to war we got this inspiration from Dear
John as the male character goes to war and we wanted to involve a twist as in
our film, it is actually the woman that goes to war first rather than the man.
