I am currently involved in the launch of a line of portable fitness equipment designed to fit comfortably
as a set inside a suitcase. The first product to launch through infomercials will be the AB Machine, with
four other portable fitness machines to follow. Together, these products offer a full workout through
bench press, rows, curls, shoulder shrugs, and many other exercises.
Working the full range of muscles is critical in achieving peak overall physical conditioning. Rows are a
compound exercise involving repeated long pulls. They are effective in strengthening the middle back,
and also the latissimus dorsi and arm muscles. Rows offer an excellent cardiovascular workout when
undertaken at low resistance levels. They are beneficial to total physical fitness as they exert little
pressure on the joints, toning all parts of the upper body, trunk, and core. Through tightening the
tension and creating higher resistance, rowing can be used to effectively bulk up muscle by serious body
builders, as well. Bench pressing complements rowing by directly working the chest muscles as well as
shoulders, abs, arms, and back.
Different muscles can be toned simply by varying hand positions. A narrow grip centers activity in the
triceps region of the arm, while wider grips create more mass in the pectoral muscles of the chest.
Shoulder shrugs target the upper trapezius area, which constitute the muscles around the neck. As a
region with a large number of fast-twitch muscles, the traps generate explosive power. At the same
time, care must be taken not to overextend the traps, as they can easily enlarge or hypertrophy.
Abdominal machines are an essential tool in creating the much sought-after six-pack. Even if your goals
are less ambitious, strong abdominal muscles offer benefits for the entire body. In particular, strong abs
support the back, reducing the severity of a variety of back ailments caused by weak stomach muscles.
Keep in mind that working the abs alone will not sustain weight loss. Combine abdominal workouts with
sustained aerobic exercise to build abs you feel confident showing off.
