They are more efficient. 500 houses + 10,000 m² non-residential facility Heating demand: 10,000 GJ / year Cooling demand: 2,300 GJ / year Gross floor area:: 60,000 m² Size Ecovat: 20,000 m³ Heat storage: 1,300 MWh Solar panels: 3,200 m² What can it do? - Store thermal energy from various sources - Prevent curtailement of renewable energy source - Offer balancing services - Prevent grid congestion - Offers conversion and storge in multi-carrier energy systems - Provides heat and cold
