2. Why is he famous? -He is most famous for his photographs featured in National Geographic and National Wildlife magazines.
3. Thomas’ Work: When Thomas first started photography, he took mostly pictures of frog and turtles. Now, after traveling to every continent he enjoys taking pictures of all wildlife. Thomas didn’t want to become a photographer, simply share what he saw with others.
4. When Thomas was little, he loved wildlife. He grew up near the Keys and the Everglades, which lead him to his love. At the age of 13, he was already a certified SCUBA diver.
5. In 1994, Thomas won the “Peoples Choice” award for the Outdoor Writers of America.
6. He graduated with Honors in a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy. He never dreamed of becoming a photographer, but once he realized his love for it, he quit his job to become a full time photographer.
7. Thomas has had no training for photography, everything is on his own. His favorite places to take photos are the Keys and the Everglades.
8. He went to the University of Florida. In High School, he worked at the Tropical Fish store, which would influence his photography.
9. His philosophy: Respect the animals, their habitat and the rights of the people who have also came to enjoy them. Besides trying to make beautiful photographs, it’s important to me that each photo tells a story. Through my photography I hope to help people become more aware of our wondrous natural world and how important it is to present it.
