Seven keys to check for a good orthopantomogram (OPG) x-ray include: 1) both jawbone condyles should be at the same level, 2) the width of each ramus should be equal, 3) the anterior region should be clear so that upper and lower front teeth are visible without overlapping or gaps between teeth, 4) there should be good contrast between teeth and bone, and 5) the lips should be closed and there should be no visible markings on tooth surfaces.
