1. Occupant Health and Building Science - An Integrated Solution: Health concerns are
the drivers to resolving Indoor Environmental and Air Quality (IEAQ) issues. Only a physician
has the medical qualifications to determine the validity of health complaints, which can drive
the life span, and costs of an IEAQ incident. BHS’ proactive, medically-based, parallel
investigation of both the occupants’ complaints and the building conditions efficiently
and effectively resolves potentially costly IEAQ issues. We view the occupant and
building as an integrated body requiring a multi-disciplinary and professional team in order to
mitigate IEAQ incidents and ensure the health, safety and productivity of occupants while
protecting the financial and physical health of the building owner’s assets.
