Intelligence of Humanoid robots
1. Humanoid Robots
Definition,
Failed ASIMO
Presentation & failure
Success
Electronic engineers
Role of it engineers
Example
How to resolve this?
2. A humanoid robot is a robot with its body shape
built to resemble that of the human body.
Previously technology failed several times to make
robots stand, walk because of improper balance.
Scientists felt it is almost impossible now.
3. But a Japanese company made it
They developed a robot named ASIMO which can
walk, run etc…
Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility
designed and developed by Honda
4. ASIMO failed
ASIMO fell during an attempt to climb stairs at a
presentation in Tokyo in December 2006
5. What is Success?
But after a month, ASIMO demonstrated tasks
such as kicking a football, running and walking up
and down a set of steps
6. At this point, we can say that
mechanical & Electronic engineers completed with
their tasks by making ASIMO physically perfect.
Because it can
Walk
Speak
Listen etc..
But what about IT engineers?
What is their role in robotics?
7. The role of IT engineers is to give robot a ‘BRAIN’
They decide
What to speak,
When to Listen
When to run etc…
They embed as maximum decisions as possible.
8. Example:-
If(user == “hi”)
{
Asimo_speak(“hello”);
}
If(user == “run”)
{
Asimo_run;
}
But what if we say “hi asimo”….
No logic is implemented so ASIMO failed to respond.
ASIMO can choose the decision
but what about generating a decision?
9. Artificial Intelligence still facing problems in
generating their own decision.
How to resolve this?
Is it possible for artificial intelligence
to think like a human being?
