3. The James Bond gun barrel sequence is the
signature device that features in every one of
the James Bond films. Shot from the point-of-
view of a unknown assassin, it features
agent James Bond walking, turning and then
shooting directly at camera, causing blood to
run down the screen.

Throughout the opening sequence the screen is
panning across, this could be to show the fast
on-going movement of the Action Adventure
genre.

• Creates a mysterious factor about the
characters.
• Based around the casino, deck of cards.
6. Music
The music is used to get you excited about the film and
to keep to watching it.
“I've seen diamonds cut through harder men”
The lyrics represent a section in the opening when a
man is killed by a diamond from a pack or cards.
7. Symbolism
The suits of the cards represent bullet’s and
violence in the opening.
This shows a softer, non violence side to the film
and doesn’t give too much away about the film
