I attented training about DESINE FOR CHANGE contest organized by
DPC,Coimbatore at Bharathiya vidya bhavan,R.S.puram.Mr.Murugesan BRTE
conducted this training,he explained DFC contest and gave many ideas.He
showed many stories about design for change.from the traning , I got ideas
which is very helpful to do my project.
My school is in selambanur village which is located at foot of the western
ghats.it is beautiful village.good people.but people of selambanur village did
not have awareness for using toilet. They used the open fields ,road side and
dry pond as toilet.it spread disease to them.so I took this problem for my
project.
At first I formed a team which had Eight member from IV &V STD .I
explained above problem to them.then we visited the houses why people
don’t use the toilet. From the visit we found that
1.Some houses don’t have the toilet.
2.Many houses have toilet.but not in use .
3.There is a comman toilet some distance from the village .so it is not to be
used.
Then my team members prepare the cut outs, notice themselves with My
help. They gave notice to people .we took the rally into the village.our
panchayat presitant joined with us .he encouraged us.
We explained that what are the problem we would face,if we use open field
as toilet.people of the selambanur village understood our aims.some parents
helped us.finally people promised us to use the toilets.we did it.
