It has become the source of information and it is continuously increaing in size and use. People are relying on the Web more and more not only for information sourcing but also for other porposes like communication, investment, banking, shopping, eduction, entertainment, etc. Online shopping is one of the most popular usage of WWW, where buying and selling of services and products are being done electronically. E-comerce application is being adopted by many companies. A huge number of options are available for the users to choose from which creates an information overload problem. Currently, the users are overwhelmed with the enormous amount of information available to them and it is challenging for them to make a final decision about the which product or service to choose. Recommender System (RS) is the outcome of this information overload problem by taking inputs from users about their interests and suggestions about products that they seem to fit their needs. As such, the RS helps users to decide which product they can short down to purchase on e-commerce sites. Application of the recommender systems to major e-commerce websited has widely increased to recommend various products including books, music CDs or DVDs and to serve multiple consumers. Collaborative Filtering (CF) and Control Based (CB) approached are the most popular recommendation systems. The CF approach recommends products to new user based on the products that like minded users have previously shown interest in. CB approach recommends products thatare similar to the products that the target user has liked before. Bothe approaches need large amount of rating inputs from the users which would show how much users have like the product. .
