The King Stands Tall The black civil rights movement struggle of the 1960s was a long and sometimes bloody battle for the rights of African
Americans to be recognized as equal to their white counterparts. The civil rights movement had many organizations that were led by prominent figures

Malcolm X and the Black Panthers both the profoundly affected the goals of the civil right movement. Malcolm X was born on May 19th, 1925 in
Omaha Nebraska. Earl Little, (Malcolm's father) was an outspoken Baptist minister and an avid supporter of the Black Nationalist leader Marcus
Garvey. Malcom graduated at the top of his class however when a teacher told him that his dream of becoming a lawyer was "no realistic goal for a
nigger" (Genius, 2016), these words greatly impacted him and caused him to leave school. Malcom's journey that caused him to affect the civil right
movement were motivated by his unprivileged past, as he had been involved in various crimes and directed by misleading guidance, none the less

My yet to be documented feelings of the X–Men franchise can best be described as mixed. I am not as huge of a fan of the original trilogy as most

could be interesting to watch? Here I compiled my own list, which of course may be entirely different to another. Here I present my views on the

7 Sci–Fi series – Transformers 4: Age of Extinction
Let's start off with a hit movie series, Transformers. Set 4 years after the previous movie, this is the time when the Transformers are no longer needed,
or more so, felt the need to wipe them out. Then all the while, Optimus Prime was found by a struggling inventor. By that the latter convinces Optimus
Prime that he can still do something for mankind. This also featured the newest kind of Transformers, the Dinobots, with Grimlock featured in the
trailer as a T–Rex. We can never be sure what kind of roles they will play, so if one wants to find out first is to go see the movie for itself.

In X–Men: The Last Stand, Warren Worthington III, who just discovered is a mutant, tries to saw off his wings because he is in denial of being
different or–as an allegory to the LGBT community–gay. Warren, covered in blood and feathers, gets–which would be considered "caught in the act" to
the LGBT community–burst in on by his disapproving, disappointed straight father as he preforms his self–mutilation in the bathroom. Warren,

During the civil rights movement, the people (African American) and theirs leaders use different methods or approaches to achieve their goal, but I
will focus on DR Martin Luther King JR and Malcolm X philosophies towards the "role of violence". DR King and Malcolm X are two black men

Government Approved Freedom
Despite both Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. actively fighting for freedom and equality during the Civil Rights Movement, both men are not
remembered equally. Undeniably, their approaches were different which resulted in conflicting ideals and different outcomes. These differences are
highlighted through the comparison of Dr. King's "Letter from Birmingham Jail" to Malcolm X's speech of "The Ballot or the Bullet". Both Malcolm X
and Dr.King advocated for change regarding the treatment of the black community, but their perceptions of the timeline for change varied. Malcolm X
was prepared to abandon the current system and separate the black community entirely to achieve immediate equality even if this called for violence.
Whereas Dr. King advocated for all groups to think and act differently for total equality and true freedom. Ultimately, Dr. King understood that for
complete change it might be a longer process, but he was willing to be respectful and encourage this movement peacefully.

From the director of Rush Hour 1, 2 and 3, Brett Ratner brings the famous fictional comic book superhero crew, X–Men, to life. When a young
mutant's extraordinary power is discovered and an unexpected visitor returns things take a change for the worse and the mutants have to battle against
time to defeat the Phoenix before it can no longer be controlled. Both teams of mutants are fighting for Jean Grey's ( the Phoenix) amazing abilities,
but which team will she join? Throughout the film many ethical issues arise about 'playing God'. A good example is when a group of scientists take

However some of the audience may be confused if they had not seen previous X–Men films. As the film does not make it clear what is going on or
where they are. However not all the special effects are as good as that. Once again we see Storm's (Halle Berry) powers come to life in a way which
does not suit this film at all and would look more at home in a horror film. The special effects used for Storm do not look real at all and it's obvious
that they are computer generated. If Brett Ratner can't give X–Men the credit it deserves maybe he should of left it to more experienced directors.
Despite many well known names (such as Ian Mckellen) appearing in X–Men all the actors fail to make this film exciting. Hugh Jackman, who has
recently starred in the film 'Australia', returns as Wolverine again. Compared to his performance in Australia, X–Men was pretty rubbish. However in
my opinion I think Hugh Jackman puts 101% effort into this role. He brings emotion to the character and makes it believable. Especially towards the
end of the film when he is faced with a decision on whether or not he should kill Jean to save everyone. He does an outstanding job and makes the
whole scene believable. It captures the audience's attention and keeps them on their toes.

Malcolm X ideologies in life and philosophy were really a result of several life events that he struggled with and experienced while growing up.
Between loosing his parents, being bullied in school and finally having Prison sentence, El–Hajj Malik El–Shabazz decided that some changes should
be arranged in the society's function. Starting from there, he became a man with a message and a mission. Malcolm X was seeking a change, a step
forward and a ray of light. After going through a lot in his life, Malcolm X was detriment to be the burning candle that illuminates the roads for
others. Almost 50 years later since his death, a lot of people still look up to him as a spiritual leader and still consider him an icon when it comes to
civil and human rights movements. Today, in a world that is moving in the path of equality and unity, we can only think of those who built the early
stages of this ground we all stand equally tall above. Thanks to influential people like Malcolm X, we can today see the impotency and the growth of

For many heroes like Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, and Frederick Douglas that fought against racism and inequality in the United States,
Malcolm X, a prominent and a real Muslim minister, also during his life has influenced, urged and advocated for the black patriotism and right and
freedom for the American black people. He achieved this through a message he passed at a meeting that was being sponsored by the active labor
forum in New York. In his speech, he addressed several concerns and issues such as integration, black Americans reunite to prevent white oppressors,
black Americans having control over the American soil, and as well as solving economic issues. Malcolm X speech, until today, has impacted and
influenced many black communities. On the other hand, many others heavily condemned him as a racist individual due to some negative connotations
he used during his speech. Throughout Malcolm x speech, he was convincing, made good use of rhetoric techniques and Pathos to get the attention of
his audience. He had the skills and the ability to arouse the emotions of his audience, therefore, in his speech, it seemed to most of his audience and
supporters were enraptured by his story.
It was so obvious that Malcolm x was a man of integrity and a true nationalist. Everything he did was based on nationalism. In his speech, he addresses

In today's film culture, superhero films are very popular genre. Yet, woman are still objectified, over–sexualized, and given roles with little or no real
merit within this genre. This has been shown since the beginning of the Wonder Woman comics and has progressed to the films we have today. Films
like Supergirl, Catwoman, the Fantastic Four series, the X–Men series, and Avengers: Age of Ultron show these issues within our film culture. Their
physical appearance, clothing, and sex appeal have more importance than the actual characters themselves. The first woman to be called a superhero,
Wonder Woman, was created by William Marston to fight the troubling lack of woman superheroes in the 1940's. Marston was a self
–proclaimed
feminist, yet had a great deal of strange ideals. To begin with, Marston did not believe feminism was about gender equality or fighting sexism in
the world. Marston believed feminism was a temperance movement about how women were morally superior to men. He strongly believed
woman were designed to fix men's problems using love, compassion, and justice. Although deeply flawed, Marston believed it was his job to help
others to realize the world needed to allow women to advance into leaders. The comics began to show a greater diversity in not only gender but also
races and ethnicities. However, in 1947, Marston died of cancer at the age of 53, seven days shy of his 54th birthday. Due to this, many of his
feministic ideas for Wonder Woman died as well.

The ultimate test of a good sequel is its ability to stand alone. X2: X–Men United passes this test with flying colors. Though the story line follows the
classic good versus evil paradigm, it is not dependent on the original X–Men movie to tell its story. X2's plotline twists keep the viewer wondering
about the loyalties of characters that appear at one moment to switch to the good side, and then just as easily revert to their roles as bad guys. Requiring
the viewer to ask, "How do we know who we can trust?"
Equally, the film's visual effects are stunning without being overwhelming or redundant. We do not see action sequences repeated from the first movie

In this society fear motivates an otherwise just government to enact a mutant registration act. This act hauntingly reminds viewers of how atrocities
began against the Jews, a people considered different in another era of hostility and fear.
It is easy for the viewer to temporarily suspend disbelief because they feel as if they have entered into the comic book world of the X–Men. Director,
Bryan Singer, has gone to great lengths to create an environment that appears plausibly realistic thus, drawing the audience even deeper into the
plotline. Costumes are dazzling with vivid color and sets are as gritty as they are realistic. Through this filmmaking magic even the most unrealistic
comic book characters seem completely credible. Combine this with editor/composer John Ottman's romantic style and sweeping score and the viewer
finds themselves thoroughly entrenched in the complexities of this comic book world.
All the original characters, plus a few new ones, return in X2 only this time with more depth and soul. The conflict between Charles Xaiver's
(Patrick Stewart) idealistic view and Eric Lensherr's (Ian McKellen) fatalistic outlook takes on more prominence as Xaiver's (Stewart) powers are used
by William Stryker (Brian Cox) as a force of evil against Xaiver's will. At this point only his
