Editor's Notes
The old fashioned typewriter. No way to correct a typo, so user developed a way around this deficiency. The electric typewriter. Now there is a correction key – it backspaces & types the letter again on white-out tape, essentially erasing the mistake. The old habit changed – you backspace to erase something, letter by letter. The word processor. Now we have the ability to highlight as much text as we need and delete it all at once – we don’t tap the backspace key a hundred times. The machine has become more efficient, and we have changed our habit accordingly.
We are a virtual team…each of us busily working away on our own cloud, developing our own habits.
Since our team is part of a larger machine, we need to maximize our efficiency. We can be more efficient as a groupif we each utilize two (user-friendly!) resources.
To communicate where your cloud is each day,
Our Outlook calendars are powerful tools – but only when we utilize them. This example is not useful (only appts are recurring and there are no details) Ex) “presentation”
This calendar shows many things – when I’m busy, when I’m traveling, when I’m free – all at a glance.
If your calendar is kept up with details, I can pull the “important” appointments onto the BizDev & Karen’s calendars, allowing Karen, Mark, and all of us to be more informed.
To communicate & record what’s happening on your cloud, your best friend & mine,
SF is a living, breathing, thing. It needs to be touched. Often. Not just once a week.
We will no longer have manually generated reports. Top Opps report will be generated directly from SF – it will look basically like this…Change from PP to SF to review new TO report with TO Note field.
