Discuss the following conflicting opinions
Opinion 1. children should be taught in heterogeneous
Classes: setting into ability groupings puts ;failure’

Onto members of the lower groups, whereas putting
more
and less able learners together encourages the slower
ones
to progress faster, without penalizing the more able.
Opinion 2. Children should be divided into ability
groupings for most subjects: these enables the
less
able one’s to be taught at a pace suitable for
them,
While the better students do not need to wait
for the
Slower one’s to catch up.
Activity 2. a good teacher should
have the following qualities:
Sense of humor
Honesty
Love of children
Knowledge of subject
Flexibility
Clear speaking voice
Pleasant appearance
Fairness
Ability to create interest
Ability to keep order
Intelligence
Enthusiasm for teaching
Topic
A good topic is one to with learners can relate using the
ideas from their own experience and knowledge
The ability topic is therefore appropriate for most
children, school teachers,
Leave room for their own initiative and originality
A topic entered discussion can be done as formal debate
Task
 is essentially goal oriented:
 requires to achieve an objective that is usually
expressed by an observable result
This result should be attainable only by interaction
between the participants
A task is often enhanced if there is some kind of
visual focus to base the talking on: picture
Reach a consensus or find out everyone’s opinion’.
