  2. 2. 2Part 1- Definition & types of learning What is the difference between learning and training? * Training is the directed acquisition of knowledge, skills, and competencies as a result of the teaching of vocational or practical skills and knowledge that relate to specific useful competencies. * Learning is more focused on the learner, it is rather a dynamic synthesizing process, formal or informal, more than a static collection of facts, knowledge or expertise. Learning is acquiring and synthesizing new, or modifying existing, knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences
