Welcome to CARE presentaton. My name is Daniel Lee. I am a judo instructor at buanasawa-kai and ex member of Seoul national university judo team. My IT credential comes from having worked at IBM, Peoplesoft, Oracle and now with appliederp, where I am the president.
My specific goal for you is to be informed and comfortable about the care by the end of this presentation.
This is an interactive session so please feel free to ask questions.
So we devised our own game plan. I would like to Thank Dan Takata, Gary Takemoto, the nanka chief referees for allowing the pilot testing at nanka events, and the nanka juries, the terminal C’s for suffering with me.
When show cased at IJF events; we had the following feed back:
Canada referee: we pay fee per use so we are interested in this
German referee: DVR based. “This is better than what we got”
Objective or procedural calls
2-3 times
Decide jury only? Can referee stop the match and view? Coach appeal during the match? Formal or informal?
Objective only? white or blue? In or out? appreciation? Game ending calls only? track shidos?
Maximum frequency? Unlimited? When? 1st 1 minutes only? Last 1 minute only? By Jury directive only or referee review ok? or formalized coach protest?)
I asked judo friends in Korea and Japan. I expected them to have the latest top notch care system. But They said this…
Japan: the quality of our referee is so high we don’t make mistakes.
Korea: a coach is going to challenge a referee??? I don’t think so…
