Black Death Instructions
1. World History
The Black Death – Group Assignment
Instructions:
For this assignmentyou will be divided into groups. Onceyou are put into the
groups you will all be given the opportunity to pick an envelope. Insideof these
envelopes you will find the name of a person who lived during the time of the
plague. In addition to a name, you will find the social status of your ‘character’,
whether they are infected with plague (and whatkind of plague!), and if they
lived or died. You will be required, as a group, to useour class Wiki page to
communicate with each other to create a PowerPointor Prezi presentation that
will be given to the class. In addition, you will fill out a survey (also on our Wiki
page) the day following your presentation rating the participation of your group.
Make sureto watch the videos, take notes in class, and really learn what the
plague was like. I want you to get into your characters head and really think about
what life would havebeen like for him/her. I won’t be giving you a place that they
have lived, their name or children’s names – only basic information, the restis up
to your imagination! If you need to do additional research, DO IT!If you have
extra questions, I will be morethan happy to help you! Remember: I can’tanswer
a question that I’mnot asked, I’mnothere to trick you – I’mhere to help! Below I
will give a list of potential characters, you won’tfind out if they live or die until
the day you pick your envelope.
