2. Personality = Personal Angle Find people who fit the subject you’re writing about. We’re writing about women aged 18-34. Describe how they live in order to tell the audience a significant, detailed story.
3. Things to know: You need to immerse yourself in the person’s life to get a better idea of who this person is. Notice the person’s quirks, idiosyncrasies, eccentricities, etc. Identify the person through details (what’s her work environment like? Personal artifacts? Type of perfume she wears? Clothing? Anything that illustrates this person’s life). Interview people who know this person. Don’t just speak to the subject. Try to chat with friends, family members, or coworkers. Don’t leave details obscured because of your inability to find information. Always write a formal letter to your subject of interest and send her a thank you note when you have finished interviewing her.
