2. Regenerative medicine has been the center of medical research in recent years, due

Stem cell treatment for vision loss
In the U.S., vision loss is affecting more than 20 million people over the age
of 18. This problem is detrimental as it reduces the individual’s productivity, or even
making him/her completely disabled. Thankfully, with the help of stem cell
treatments, different forms of blindness can be treated.
One treatment consists of inducing embryonic stem cells into cells that reside in the
retina, which could be transplanted into patients’ eyes for retina regeneration.
Moreover, advancements are being made in the cornea, where researchers have
achieved positive results in regenerating a damaged cornea in a laboratory setting.
Regenerated tracheas for transplant

biotechnology company developing regenerated tracheas for the patients having
damaged airways.
The bioreactors have been used in 8 surgeries to transplant synthetic regenerated

airway using a synthetic scaffold took place. Advancement of trachea technology
could eventually direct the medical researches to transplant lungs, heart and GI
tract.
3D bioprinting
After the 30 years of 3D printer invention, bioprinting a process of extracting a
patient’s cells to grow them, and to load them into a printer cartridge for the
printing a live human tissue has come to fruition.
Utilization of this technology is a viable way for researchers to test potential drugs
and treatments on human tissue, without harming any animals or patients.
Currently, for medical organizations which are the part of the center for regenerative
medicine use printed tissues for medical research, but the time is not too far when
printed tissues will heal and repair organs.
Stem cell treatments for heart repair
Heart disease rank number one which caused a lot of death in America for a very

treatments for heart disease, but the existing therapies do not have the ability or
effectiveness to reverse the scarring and damage of the heart directly.
