Itinerary:
Day : Cusco - Mollepata - SoraypampaCampsite
Wewillleave Cusco at 5:30 am and head torwardsMarcoccasa (3400m/11154f),
passingthevillageMollepata (3000m/9843f). In Marcoccasawewillmeetthehorsemen and therest of
thegroup and startourtrek. Westarthikingwithin a magnificentvalley,
surroundedbythemostimportantsnow-cappedmountainssuch as theHumantay (5217m/17116f)
and theSalkantay (6264m/20551f). Ourcampsitewill be at Soraypampa (3700m/12139f).

Transport time: 4 hours
Hiking time: 6 hours
Day 2: Sorayapampa – Salkantay pass - Challway
Afterbreakfast, wewill set off towardsthe Salkantay Pass (4600m/15092f)
whichoffersanexceptionalview of thesnow-capped Salkantay (6264m). Thereafter,
wewilldescendagain and willhave time toenjoytheincreasingvegetation of theecosystem. Our
camp sitewill be in Challway (3000m/9842f), amidstthe tropical forestwithwarmclimate and
mosquitoes.

Day 3: Challway – Wiñaypoco – La Playa
Thethirddayisdedicatedtotheregion’s flora and itsplantations. Afterdescendingto a dimmedforest
and enjoyingthediversity of species of orchids, bromelains and manyotherplants, wewillseecoffee-,
cacao- and fruit-plantations. Moreover, wewillhavethepleasuretomeet local families of Wiñaypoco
(2650m/8694f) and La Playa (2100m/6890f). Our camping sitewill be in La Playa.
Climate: warm during the day with mosquitoes
Hiking time: 6 hours
Day 4: La Playa – Llactapata – AguasCalientes town
Early in themorning, ourtrail leads ustothearcheologicalcomplex of Llactapata (2650m/8694f)
locatedamidstaneclecticarray of vegetation. Fromhere, wewillhave a beautifulview of themountain
Machu Picchu. Afterwards, wewillcontinuedowntothehydroelectricstation (1950m/6398f).
Herewewilltakethetraintowards Aguas Calientes (2050m/6726f), wherewewillspendthenight in a
hotel.

Hiking time: 6 hours
Day 5: AguasCalientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Wewillleaveour hotel afterbreakfast at 5:30 am and head for Machu Picchu (2400m/7874f)
bytourist bus. Wewillarrive at thecitadelaround 6:00 am. After a guided tour
aroundthearcheologicalsite, includinginformationaboutlife and culture of the Incas,
youwillhaveenough time toenjoyMachu Picchu and Wayna Picchu (2750m/9022f) onyourown.
Wewillleave Aguas Calientes bytraineither at 2:55 pm or at 6:10 pm. Untilthen, youwillhave time
tohave lunch in one of thenice restaurants. Moreover, you can visit the hot springs in
2. AguasCalientes to relax abit. Hiking time: 02 hours
